Key Stage 3
Vision for KS3 Learning Zone
The Key Stage 3 Learning Zone follows the philosophy of an inclusive and outward-looking Academy at the heart of its community, of a school that is the first choice for local parents and young people, and of an Academy that is the hub of growing learning community for local people.
Young people are actively encouraged to (and regularly rewarded for) working hard: positive work ethic is the core philosophy to underpin all teaching and learning at KS3. Conversely, those young people not engaging with a positive work ethic, or young people that fail to attain their targets (for whatever reason) will receive extra support at times when those young people attaining and exceeding their targets are being rewarded for their efforts.
Learning has to be fun and memorable: regular, planned- for ‘moments’ of spectacular revelation, performance or celebration must sit side by side with our positive and hard-working ethos. All adults that contribute to the learning experience of KS3 pupils must lead by example, we never contradict our expectations for young people with our own behaviour. Adults involved with KS3 children are expected to always be well groomed and presented; courteous, punctual and prepared for every lesson.
